Plutonian Changes
Do you embrace changes or resist them?
When I taught Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction in my introductory university physics course, it was always a challenge. The theory was intricate, and without prior experience, students struggled to grasp it intuitively. The law explains how electricity is generated through magnetic phenomena and it had taken nineteenth-century physicists decades figuring it out and sorting through the details. In the end, it all boiled down to one fundamental principle: a change in magnetic conditions through a closed loop of wire induces the loop to resist the change by generating its own electric current.
“Nobody likes change,” I would tell my students. Most of them, young and inexperienced in the way of life, would push back. “We like change!” they’d insist. “And we don’t get your metaphor.”
Do You Like Change?
Can you accept life’s changes gracefully and without fear?
Over the past two years, Pluto has transitioned into a new sign in the sky, and soon, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Jupiter will follow. Within the span of three or four years, we will have witnessed unprecedented shifts in the fabric of our lives. You don’t need to follow astrology to see the writing on the wall — change is everywhere. Political, economic, financial, educational, healthcare — there isn’t a single aspect of life untouched by transformation.
But astrology offers one distinct advantage over other ways of tracking life changes. It provides an endpoint. No matter how celestial or psychological shifts are interpreted, the cycles themselves are mathematical, and they always conclude.
And this is the time to test yourself. How do you handle change? Do you truly embrace it, or do you resist? Do you navigate transformation with grace and poise, or do you get dragged along, kicking and screaming?
Because when Plutonian changes arrive, transformation is non-negotiable. Your only choice is how you go through it — with ease and acceptance or with resistance and turmoil.
Are you undergoing such a transformation? You are if you have any planet or sensitive point at one or two degrees of any sign in your astrological chart. It doesn’t even matter which sign — resonance is based on numbers and occurs through the degrees.
How Do Plutonian Transformations Feel?
The first time I consciously experienced a Pluto transit was in 2014, when Pluto moved through the twelfth degree of Capricorn. I found myself feeling unsettled, discontent, and confused about life. I had figured out parenting, my professional career was in order — so why did I feel so lost? With motivation at an all-time low, I questioned whether I was slipping into depression. But knowing about Pluto’s transits helped me hold on. I made a deal with myself: I would worry about my mental health after the transit was over — just to make sure I wasn’t mistaking an astrological process for something else.
Since then, Pluto has hit my chart four more times, including now, as I navigate yet another transformation. While the details of each experience varied, I discovered a consistent emotional pattern. I would lose motivation. I would feel directionless, uncertain about what I wanted to do. Many times, I didn’t want to do anything at all. I dragged myself through life on low energy, doing only the bare minimum to get by. And I am forever grateful to my family, who patiently gave me the space to navigate the challenges of my Pluto transits.
Plutonian Transformations Are Like House Renovations
Have you ever taken on a major home renovation? At first, you’re excited, imagining the beautiful outcome. But as the work drags on, the process becomes unbearable. Your kitchen is gutted, and you’re eating off paper plates. The contractor is behind schedule. Delays and unexpected issues pile up. Chaos takes over, and you begin to lose faith that things will ever get better. Just when you’ve given up hope, the project finally comes together.
A Plutonian transformation feels the same.
At first, you tell yourself it won’t be that bad. You read all the empowering astrology books and brace yourself with optimism. But a year into it, your metaphorical furniture is in storage, the plumbing doesn’t work, and you wonder if this will ever end?
Yes. It will.
After experiencing four Pluto cycles, I can say this with certainty. You emerge stronger. Things that once crushed you now feel insignificant. Your life feels more aligned with your true purpose. Relationships that drained you disappear. New, powerful connections replace them. And one overarching truth becomes undeniable — Plutonian transformations leave you with zero tolerance for lies, deceit, or self-delusion. What is false falls away, what is authentic remains.
Acceptance and Non-Resistance Is the Key
The key to surviving Pluto’s transformations with minimal pain is acceptance. The more you resist, deny, or avoid change, the more circumstances escalate into unfortunate accidents and toxic relationships.
Whenever panic and dread crept in during my latest Plutonian transit, I repeated this phrase to myself: “You are being released. You are being released. You are being released.” Somehow, those words helped me sit with the discomfort, pushing through fear while trusting the process. And time and time again, I found that matters resolved well before the transit ended eventually.
Plutonian transits teach one thing: transformation is inevitable. And while we like to say we welcome change, actually living through it is another story. But if you trust the process, accept the mess, and allow yourself to be released, you’ll find something remarkable waiting on the other side — a new, more powerful and authentic version of yourself.
